Transition Services

Transition can be a very difficult time in anyone's life. Students attend Laurel Elementary school for only three years before moving on to Metacomet, where they spend two years before moving on to Carmen Arace Intermediate School, where they spend two years. Our students are constantly in a state of transition. New teachers, new classrooms, new buildings, new friends, new experiences. The Student Family Assistance Center is available to all of our students to assist them in making sense of their changing world. As they enter into a new school, a new classroom, a new group of friends, or a change in their home lives, we are here to help them feel confident, collected, and cared for.
